Blog Launch!
I'm here.
I'm actually doing this.
I'm writing the post I never expected to write. I've designed a website. I've put together a general plan for posting. I have hopes and dreams for this blog. My website isn't perfect. I'm sure I'll be working on it for months. (And please ignore the social media icons at the bottom of this post...Someday I'll figure out how to delete those. I'm not on any social media.)
It all happened quickly, actually. I've had an email list for a few months now, and I was happy and content with that. I didn't think I would be starting a blog any time soon. Then I realized that my email list is a place for people who want to hear about me and my writing--and most of those people are primarily interested in my fantasy writing.
How many people out there are interested in classical poetry?
I don't know, but with this blog I want to find out.
It's my dream that we can create a classical-poetry loving community here. It's my dream that as I delve deeper and deeper into the history, the beauty, and the technicalities of classical poetry, I'll learn along with you--whoever you are.
Over the next several weeks--months--years--I plan to post regularly and to gather together classical-poetry themed content on this blog.
What will that look like?
Well, for starters, I plan to have
Posts discussing my own poetry journey
Posts about the history of classical poetry
Posts about the technicalities of classical poetry
Guest posts by other poets and classical-poetry reader
Where will it go from there? I'm not sure. Along with you, I hope to find out.
Welcome to the journey.
