Eris Cardin is a Christian, fantasy writer and poet who grew up as a missionary kid in Southeast Asia. She started writing when she was seven years old, and she never stopped.
She loves fantasy with complex worldbuilding, lyrical writing, and deep themes. She seeks to explore darkness and deep pain in her stories in such a way that both her characters and readers may awaken to the brightness of the light shining into the darkness.

After the death of her father, Appia’s grandfather leaves her on the doorstep of an ancient mysterious library—a library he has described as monstrous but beautiful in its book-glory. Clutching her greatest treasure, the book that her grandmother wrote and her grandfather illustrated, Appia meets the Librarian, who spent his youth searching for the library and the rest of his life organizing books inside it. Together, they will have a quest to finish and a choice to make.

The Heartbeat of Heaven
Sacrament…
Rituals instituted by Christ to symbolize the depth and beauty of our relationship with Him in the everyday rhythms of life.
Perhaps we limit the meaning of the word. Perhaps every breath we take, every word we say, every act we make, the little beauties of every day—perhaps they, too, are sacramental. Acts of worship. Reminders of Christ. Symbols of greater things beyond.
And maybe poetry helps us to better appreciate this.
These poems are honest prayers, expressions of joy, and songs of yearning written by a young poet who rejoices in the beauty of the written word and the greatness of the King of kings.
May this poetry collection be a blessing and an inspiration. May it touch the heart and stir the soul. And may it bring glory to the greatest Author and Poet of all.

An anthology by Eris Cardin, Elestren Hawke, Decker J. Martin, Ruby Miner, Summer Analynn Mohr, Maya Pawley, Analea Pennell, Mercy Pope, Ana Rattin, Skylar Rivers, and Beatrice Sanders
As the Frost Melts is a poetry collection that embraces the beauty and heartbreak of life, the joy of whimsy, and the intricacy of the written word. Compiled by eleven teenagers with poetry in their hearts and a heart for their poetry, the collection explores a wide range of themes through both free-style poetry and traditional structures.

From season to season, the poems engage with topics such as the loss of childhood, the preciousness of memories, the beauty of nature, and a poet who drinks hot cocoa like an Englishman.

We invite you to journey through past, present, and future, to walk through these pages and the themes herein explored, and watch as the frost melts.
